Bright Zebra

Hey everyone! Gonna keep it short today but I have a fun bright mani for you :)
I used Wet n Wild's Megalast On a Trip which is a bright purple although these pictures photograph a little on the blue side and China Glaze's For Audrey which I don't think I need to describe since it's such a popular color in the nail world...oh and I also used black acrylic paint.
I have terrible lighting in my living room so I'm going to blame that on some of my zebra lines...don't judge me!

Isn't it such a fun summer mani?? My fingers are having a blast!

Happy Monday! <3

Stampy Fun

Hey everyone! Hope you're enjoying your weekend.  Today I tried a new color that's been sitting on my rack for some time now. It's Revlon's Plum Night - the name fits perfectly, it's a dark-almost-black looking deep purple.   I also used Sally Hansen's Gunmetal for stamping which you'll see below.
*Pic heavy...'cause I can't decide ;)
The great thing about this polish is that she's super shiny all on her own. No topcoat needed!

Then I decided to ruin it with stamping! Okay, I guess ruin is too strong of a word but I hate when I have this wonderful nail idea in my head and then, like in this case, the stamp doesn't fit my full nail! Grrrr...it bugs me so bad! I've asked for tips on how to avoid this and I hear you can do half of your nail at a time but how the hell are you supposed to align the image perfectly??? If any one can answer me that I'll love you forever! Sorry for the mini rant...here's my pics:  I used BM plate 208

Then my little 7 yr old, Maia, wanted in on the nail fun so this is what we came up with ;)

Here she is with her Momma <3

Happy Saturday!

Glitter & Jelly Sandwich

Hey everyone! Today I was feeling a little hungry...for a glitter sandwich hehe :)  I used Lulu by Zoya and Shine of the Times by Essie.
This is 3 coats of Lulu - can you tell she's a shy one? Super sheer but the color builds up beautifully after a few coats.  It's like a light peach jelly. Love it.  I think you'd probably need at least 4-5 coats of this to get the true bottle color though.  I also tried to sandwich Essie's Shine of the Times as an accent but it's so subtle. It's only seen in certain lights and there was hardly any sun when I was taking these pictures. I think for the next time I want to try a sandwich I will pick a better color and glitter.

Happy Friday!!

Sparkle Matte

Hey everyone! So I had an idea of what this mani would look like but it didn't turn out quite like my imagination dreamed it up to be. Six layers of polish later I think it's still pretty cool.
It'll go with my dress today :)
I used: China Glaze Shower Together, Revlon's Whimsical and Hard Candy's Matte-ly In Love.
I wish I would have swatched Shower Together for you before I layered it so you can see what color she really is on her own.  Oh well! It's not a neon but definitely a bright turquoise.
I did two layers of each color and then one matte top coat...here is the turnout:

Simply Lovely

Hey everyone hope you had a fabulous weekend! Today I have a simple but beautiful color for you. Tantalize Me by China Glaze is a gorgeous jelly purple but there's a shimmery blue undertone hiding within certain lights.  It's one of my favorites <3

Happy Monday! :D

Bright Summer Fun

Hey everyone! It's such a beautiful Saturday where I live that I just had to pull out a bright color for today's mani.  I used Sun Worshiper  and Traffic Jam both by China Glaze.  Sun Worshiper is a true neon Orange which dries matte but these pictures are making it look super yellow...sorry :(

Then I added some stripey fun.  I should have taken my time more and maybe it would've turned out better. Oh well! A new mani awaits me tomorrow ;)

Happy Saturday my fellow lacquer lovers!

New Color

Hey everyone! It's finally Thursday yay!  So last week sometime I bought China Glaze's Peachy Keen because it had been on my wishlist for a while and since Sally's was having an awesome deal it was the perfect excuse for me to buy it :)  It's such a pretty color on the nail and I'm so mad I couldn't pick up the true color with my camera.

These pics make the polish appear a little on the neon side.  This color has so many different personalities.. I feel like in certain lights you can see the pastel of the peach color and in other lights the peach appears more like a vivid orange.

Then, because I can't leave my polish alone I added a layer of glitter for an accent. I used Klean Color's Shooting Star. I love this glitter polish but not against this color.  I should have just left it alone.
Hope you enjoy it anyway and Happy Thursday!

A Fuzzy Pink Wednesday

Hey everyone! hope you're having a fabulous day!! Last week sometime I saw Leslie, over at Polish Art Addiction, do a fun mani with flocking powder.  I started seeing it pop up everywhere after that  so I thought I'd give it a go :)  I got this set of mini bottles of flocking powder for $2.49 at my local Michael's craft store.

The one I used is Blush
It wasn't nearly as messy as I had anticipated which is awesome!  I chose to do just an accent with this but I think it would look cool to do all fingers for like Easter (think yellow baby chick) or Christmas (think snowy white).
Oh and my base coat is Exceptionally Gifted by China Glaze - 2 coats
They're so fuzzy I can't stop touching them!

Hope you enjoy this funny mani as much as me :D
Happy Pink Wednesday!

Galaxy Nails & a Neon

Hey everyone! Sorry I left you hanging all weekend...didn't make time to post I guess! Galaxy nails is something I've wanted to try for a while now but just haven't...until now :)
This was definitely a fun mani to do and for some reason my right hand turned out better than my left which is unusual since I'm right handed....oh well!
Here are all the bottles of polish I used for this: I'll list the names below if you're interested.
Here is an indoor shot of my left hand...I got a little sponge-happy.  Also, I have a glitter on for the "stars" but this pic didn't pick up on any of those lovelies.
This one kinda got some of those fabulous glitters :)
Here we are outside in natural light - this is still my sponge-happy left hand
and here are some shots of my right hand...these turned out a little better in my opinion.  Overall, I think it looks pretty cool and it was fun to do...practice makes perfect!

This is my mess after I was all done...not too bad huh?
On Saturday we went out to dinner for my Mom's birthday and I thought I'd rock this fun mani for her...haha!
I used China Glaze's Flip Flop Fantasy and just some acrylics I have lying around. The cheetah print didn't come out as perfect as I wanted it to due to the fact that I was using regular paint brushes that I've used on canvas and paper so they have a lot of wear.  Waiting for that husband of mine to buy me actual nail art brushes ;)
If you're interested in recreating the Galaxy nail look, here are all the polishes I used:
1 - Pure Ice, Black Rage as my base
2 - Pure Ice, Super Star! for sponging
3 - China Glaze, First Mate for sponging
4 - Love & Beauty, Rose for sponging
5 - Prisma Luminous Color - glitter
and as always I used Seche Vite base and top coat!
Happy Monday Everyone!
